NorthStar was retained to review the impacts of existing and future campus development on existing on-site and off-site drainage basins. The adequacy of existing on-site detention facilities was also studied. Various campus projects resulted in the realignment of campus roadways and changes to campus drainage patterns. Private development adjacent to the campus also impacted upstream and downstream drainage basins. During the design phase of several projects for the University, NorthStar completely redesigned four major on-campus detention facilities and their associated outfall systems.
Additionally, NorthStar was retained by the University to study the impacts of the City of Pueblo’s proposed Storm Water Utility fees and make recommendations to the University regarding on-campus drainage improvement projects which would reduce or eliminate the long term cost impacts of the referenced fees.
